Nuts and Bolts 2.0–Tapping Project-based Expertise: How to Find and Manage Skills-based & Pro Bono Volunteers
December 11, 2017 @ 11:00 am - 12:30 pm
The Nuts and Bolts 2.0 volunteer engagement training series brings the experience of a nationally-recognized expert to you! This series is designed for volunteer coordinators, staff who engage volunteers, or those who manage national service members.
The training series will be offered in Elko, Las Vegas, Mesquite, Reno, and Winnemucca, and will be broadcast to a classroom of you and your peers to maximize learning and networking among volunteer engagers.
Register for all 5 training sessions for a total of $60 or for individual sessions at $15 each.
Session Description
“Skills-based volunteering” may be a bit of a misnomer – after all, all volunteers have skills! That said, targeted professional services – in marketing, graphic design, accounting, technology, strategic planning, training design, data analysis, legal, translation, and more – can have a deep impact on your organization’s ability to meet its mission.
In this webinar, we will share how to find and engage targeted professional volunteer talent for your organization and increase the quality of your programming. Your presenter has both recruited pro bono volunteers and contributed her professional services. She will share her experience from both sides of the table and give examples of successful (and not so successful) projects and what can be done to ensure the best outcomes for everyone. You’ll leave with a solid action plan and practical tools to get there.
You’ll learn …
- How to know whether your organization is ready for skills-based volunteering
- How to structure skills-based gigs to attract the greatest amount of interest
- How to find volunteers with pro-level talent (they don’t have to live nearby)
- How to negotiate a pro bono scope of work that ensures mutual goals are met
